How to say it
ˈrɛn.li
Little bird, meadow
ˈrɛn.li
A modern coinage joining the bird name Wren to the popular -lee suffix.
Wrenlee stitches together two trends, the tiny brown songbird Wren and the soft -lee ending found in Rylee and Hadley. The wren is small, quick, and full of song, which gives the name a nature-sweet feel. There is no old root here, just a fresh American invention from the past decade. The W stays silent, so it is simply REN-lee.
The standard spelling is Wrenlee. Common variants include Wrenley, Wrenlie, Renlee, but Wrenlee is the most widely used form.
